Leah on the Offbeat by Becky Albertalli
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
3.5⭐. While I really enjoyed getting back to our characters and seeing them from a new POV, there wasn't really any more to this book than a small slice-of-life snapshot of the end of senior year at Creekwood. It was nice to experience everyone's college decisions, but that was about it.
I did like getting a look inside Leah's head, but I couldn't really connect with her angsty/angry teen vibe. I did relate with her awkwardness and I loved hearing about her fanart (Nina & Inej shoutout! so many anime namedrops! ;] ). All her emotions felt very real, I just never knew what to expect next from her and didn't really understand half her decisions.
It was still a charming book, though, and I liked exploring her relationship with Abby.
