Made this berry custard pie for a potluck today - the Washington Post recipe is super easy as always, but I randomly decided to make half the berries into a compote first (with some muddled basil that might've gotten lost in there. Oh well).

Have you checked out the Tree Ring Tee by @daniknitsthings yet?? (check her profile for the link!) I test knit the pattern for her, and although it's her first design, it's straightforward and easy to follow. It would be a great first sweater that won't bore you! Also, it uses way less yarn than you'd think - under two skeins for me, though I did 3/4 sleeves - and it's fun to mix and match from your stash!
